AURELIUS acquired Ghotel as part of a complex carve-out from the German postal service Deutsche Post, which no longer regarded Ghotel as part of its core business. This had prevented Ghotel from reaching its full economic potential.

The Ghotel Group was reorganised and its brand was repositioned, leading to a significantly enhanced customer focus. The brand portfolio was expanded through a combination of new openings and franchise agreements. The improved profitability allowed for investment in sustainable growth. In the last three years of AURELIUS’ stewardship, the company’s revenue doubled and the workforce grew to 420.
