AURELIUS to acquire Nokia’s Enterprise Campus Edge business
2026
- Leading global tech business in a growing market
- AURELIUS’ operational expertise essential to win the deal
- AURELIUS on track to achieve its targeted number of acquisitions per year
London, October 13, 2026 – AURELIUS, a global private equity investor distinguished and widely recognised for its operational approach, has signed a definitive agreement with Nokia regarding the proposed acquisition of its Enterprise Campus Edge (ECE) business in a complex, global carve-out.
ECE is a recognised industry leader in private wireless, serving nearly 900 customers across industries including manufacturing, mining, logistics, airports, ports and power generation worldwide. Its portfolio also includes industrial devices, on-premises operational technology (OT) edge and micro-edge solutions, as well as software applications that enable industrial AI-powered use cases. ECE’s digitalisation platform helps organisations improve operational performance, increase automation, and enhance sustainability and worker safety by connecting assets and processing OT data on premises for greater data security and sovereignty.
The business employs approximately 1,000 people worldwide, with key operations in Finland, Hungary, India and the US, generating annual sales of more than €170m from its markets in Europe, North and South America, APAC and the Middle East.
“ECE is a strong business with differentiated technology, a talented team, a global footprint and an established customer base that includes many Fortune 500 enterprises across various industries. We see significant opportunities for ECE to build on its leading position in private 5G and industrial edgeas a standalone business, expand its portfolio into emerging areas such as AI-powered industrial automation, and help customers accelerate the digitalisation and automation of their operations,” said Fabian Steger, Managing Director AURELIUS Fund IV and V.
Andrzej Cebrat, Managing Director at AURELIUS Funds IV and V adds: “ECE is a promising investment for AURELIUS Opportunities Fund V that fits well into our investment approach of acquiring global corporate carve-outs with improvement potential. We aim to complete around six investments a year, and this planned transaction puts us well on track to achieve this target for 2026.”
The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including completion of any required information and consultation processes with employee representatives, where applicable, and regulatory approvals. ECE employees are expected to transfer with the business at closing in accordance with applicable local laws and processes. AURELIUS and Nokia are cooperating closely to ensure continuity for existing customers and employees, and to support a smooth transition.
The planned transaction is expected to close in H1 2027.
